Liteon 48x on Priceline

I just saw the Liteon 48x on Priceline at two locations. It is very tempting but I will have to holds off for a few days to a week at least. It says it writes 48x CAV with Mt. Rainier to boot.

You can OC your Lite-on 40x to 48x, but it will void the warranty.

OC Freak should have the extracted fw up soon to do this.

Oh, download the latest version of mtkflash (1.48). The 1.38 that we were trying to use earlier was bogus and that was what was causing all the problems. Use it to install the 48x fw if you want.

I tried to use mtkflash 1.38 to flash my 40125S down to ZS0A (just for trying sth.). Result: Firmware dead, LED constantly green…mtkflash 1.48 repaired it of course.

Sounds good about MTKflash 148, I will wait on the firmware.

Just install it using mtkflash.

I like my new speed of 22x-40x P-CAV (unfortunately it writes crap when trying to burn my TY 24x @ 48x).

You are saying that the firmware works, but it is a bit touchy about media? Does it write okay with Mitsui or Taiyo Yuden?

Also, does anything support the Liteon 48x. anything at all?

I haven’t got any 32x/40x certified Taiyo Yuden to check if they’re written to at 48x, I can only say that the 24x certified TY should be written to at 40x.

As you can see in the pictures, Nero supports 48x writing.

CloneCD 4 also supports that writer.
