According to LiteOn's website this model is supposed to support Mt. Rainier.

Unfortunately Nero didn't report it as a feature, neither InCD allowed me to format a cdrw in CD-MRW-format.

Is this software related problem or doesn't this model support Mt Rainier at all ?

Thanks in advange.

It’s firmware related. Those lazy people @ Lite-On have not released a firmware supporting mount rainier for this drive yet.

I asked the liteon’s support, here is their answer, about mouint rainer support on 40125W :

Dear Sir,

Your drive fully supports Mt.Rainier.
Do you have a recording software installed on your PC ie Nero, Winon etc.
If so, please deinstall it and reinstall the CDRW.

I have the 40125W too, and it supports MtR. when overclocked with both VS06 and VS02 (to 48x). I don’t remember whether it supported MtR when it was still a 40x.
