I’ve looked all over but can’t find a solution to this problem.
I have a sony dvd drive that is a rebadged Liteon SOHW-812S.
I have tried everything (and subsequently forgotten a few of the steps along the way) and now i’m stuck with a drive that only burns at 4x and often corrupts the data it burns.
Can someone help me fix this?
Thanks in advance,

PS. My apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.

Welcome to the forums-

Is this a replacement drive (took one out - put this one in)?

What is your operating system and specifics of your system (see my signature below to get an idea of what I’m talking about)-

@ jeswa
In addition to the information bigmike7 has asked for, what is the Media IDentification of the discs you are trying to burn? What is your drive firmware? What kind of burn results are you getting? What is your DMA’s current transfer mode?
You can check your discs’ MID, firmware and burn results with Kprobe 2.4.3 BLER scans(scanned at 4x scan speed the forum standard for comparison). You can read Interpreting PI/PO error scans to find out what these graphs mean. PI/PO is now referred to as PI/PIF. Roughly, PImax<280; PIFmax<4. Attaching disc quality scans to your post of the offending discs will help us help you.
