Lite-on LTR-48125S or Sony CRX215A1

Hi there
the Lite-on LTR-48125S (48-12-48) and
Sony CRX215A1 (48-24-48) cost the same.

Which one is the best?

The sony is made by LiteOn.
you should be able to get a LiteOn 52x24x52x for the same or less than Sony.

Hi Again
What i really wold like to know is which one of these two there i the best.
the Lite-on LTR-48125S (48-12-48) and
Sony CRX215A1 (48-24-48) cost the same.

I think about noise, reliabillety etc.

thanks in advance

They are both LiteOn drives.

The original LiteOn 48x12x48x was the LTR-48125W/S, the newer version is LTR-48126S, which is the same drive as the Sony 48x but with different firmware.
As to your question: the later LiteOn drive is a little better at reading copy protections, but again it depends on the firmware, In short, you’re splitting hairs here.
You could also get a recent Buslink drive, 48x12x48x, and find a 48x24x48x in the box, for less than the Sony.
The main difference will be the bundled software, Sony does not come with Nero, LiteOn does.
