Lite-On LDW-411S DVD±RW

I just posted the article Lite-On LDW-411S DVD±RW.

Specification wise the LDW-411S seems to be a clear winner as few other drives are able to provide such high CD-R/RW read/write speeds and 4X DVD+RW write speeds. Our expectations for this drive are very high due to the fact that our previous Lite-On drives have been very good performers.

Had a DVD given to me that couldnt be read by Windows with an incomplete session that couldnt be closed. Installed version 1.9 and it read the disk no problem and even got the video file of the disc.

i have used this for 2 years and, in conjunction with Total Commander, it’s indispensible to authencate this very complicated world of optical media

The very best tool for recovering data from damaged discs. Well worth paying the author for the “Pro” version!

I bought a Lite-On drive as an upgrade, or so I thought. I got exactly 7 audio cd’s and two video dvd’s out of it before it went belly up. I used Maxell cd’s and dvd media, and was also careful not to use over burn. It didn’t matter. Lite-On did not answer e-mail so the warranty is useless. Sometimes you get what you pay for. It’s a low quality product from a low quality company. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I bought this product for the bargain price. Next time I’ll spend a little more and buy a drive from ANY manufacturer other than Lite-On.
