My first burn with this drive. A JVC DVD+R 16x burned @ 16x.
Cool. Do you confirm the unit support both lightscribe and labeltag ?
I suppose that the drive is a genuine Liteon design.
Geesh, it’s about time it came out.
Yes, it does both.
The next burn, a platinum DVD+R 16x printable burned @ 16x.
Does the device ID really start with ‘SATA’ or have you just got it on a controller that messes it up?
The old JMicron drivers used to do that - and it stops some software tools working properly because they expect the real device ID to be returned and not a modified one.
Did you buy the retail box version? If so, what model number does it say on it exactly?
iHAS624-xx ? (what’s the xx bit?)
I see it is the B version using the newer MTK chip-set so
no cross flashing iHAS224/424/or 524 A to it we will just
have to wait for the B version of those drives I guess.
You can always get the Asus DRW-24B3LT and try the crossflash, since it is an iHAS424 B. The GL24 firmware is available here

Oops :o my bad
I totally forgot all about the Asus DRW-24B3LT drives I’m going to get one
and try it, can’t do anything more than kill the drive I guess…but isn’t
that what it’s all about being a cdfreak taking chances and all.
AFAIK, FU 5.0.0 isn’t able to currently flash any ‘B’ drives, only backup the firmware, as shown here. I believe C0deKing has figured it out, but not sure if there will be any updates to support it.

Oh nooooooooooooo guess I won’t get to try it after all then.
I know the FU 5.0.0 will back up the FW on B drives as I have
already backed up my iHAS 124-04 B FW I just hope C0deKing
will post an update to it so we can flash our B drives also if not
then all is lost and the end of the cross-flash world is near.
Yes it’s an controller.
It’s the retail version: Lite-On iHAS 624-T32 B
A Memorex DVD-R 16x burned @ 16x.
excellent burn for that MID
So, I have the drivers updated my controller card and now it looks like this.
A TDK DVD+R 16x burned @ 20x OS and OHT on.
That’s better (the name I mean)
Great thread(info) and lovely drive!!
I got mine today.
Ordered from LambdaTek (UK) and can now confirm it’s a ‘B’ version rather than an ‘A’.
The box lists the model as ‘iHAS624-T32 B’.
