Found one now.

Now is this the same chipset as the 324 I already have?

Here’s a selection of untested patched BL2J firmware:

Enjoy!

Hi. Are there any way of crossflash iHAS324 to 524 ? my current drive crossflash sucessfuly drom iHAS122 A to iHAS324 A. Current version of EEPROM utility doesn’t crossflash to 524.

Although you can crossflash iHAS324 to iHAS524, Labeltag feature still does not work.

Thanks CK! Hope you had a nice NYE!

Is Labeltag hardware dependent ? I guess that the chipset of iHAS124, iHAS324 and iHAS524 are the same.
Are any extra hardware needed ? like lightscribe ?

Testing new patched firmware by C0deking.

FR - 18x in DVD SL. 16x in DVD+R DL ( MKM001, CMC MAG D01, RICOHJPND01 ) except CMCMAG D03 ( 3-8x ). I tested 3 diferent discs ( CMC MAG D03 ) burned in diferent drives and always 3-8x.

I got the same result for CMCMAGD02, only up to 8x.

Does LabelTag work on “your” drive?

LabelTag looks disabled in SmartPack. No compatible drive listed. My drive is a iHAS122@iHAS524.

Verbatim 16x -R ( MCC03RG20 ) burned at 16x.

Verbatim 16x -R ( MCC03RG20 ) burned at 24x. ( 3:59  )

Firmware: BL2J-FR-dl16

MCC03RG20@TYG03 using MCSE.

Shouldn’t that read iHAS124@iHAS524 rather than iHAS122@iHAS524 , or did you actually managed to crossflash a 22x drive into a 24x drive?

I take the risk and flash my “iHAS122 A” with a “iHAS324” firmware. Apply the convert function in the EPROM utility and power cycle the drive. It works.
Now I reflash it with the test FR-DL16 from C0deking and apply the EEPROM utility again.

22x -> 24x

The major issue is that only YUDEN T03 and TYG03 are capable of 24x in the original firmware. I’m using strategy replacement with MCSE to test with the medias that sell here.

Only the Labeltag is missing. Or maybe I forget something ?

Verbatim 8x +R ( MCC003 ) burned at 8x

Firmware: BL2J-FR-dl16

Verbatim 16x +R ( MCC004 MIT - Prodisc ) burned at 24x

Firmware: BL2J-FR-dl16 - Thanks C0deKing.

MCC004@YUDEN T03 with MCSE.

 Awesome result.

iHAS324@iHAS524, BL2J-fr-dl16-eos-scr
Verbatim MCC 004
Burned @16x
Burn time - 6:07 (very slow)

Strangely Liteon 20A4P does not like the burn.

iHAS324@iHAS524, BL2J-fr-dl16-eos
Verbatim MCC 004
Burned @16x
Burn time - 5:55 (slow)
All - on

iHAS324@iHAS524, BL2J-fr-dl16-eos

Everything on.
