I’m very perplexed. I’ve seen in a web shop a new LiteOn model, the DH-20A4P, at a very low price. Only 19,30 Euro.
I was looking for a DH-20A3P to replace my noisy A1 series but now I don’t know if the new drive is a better choice or not. I never seen anyone here with this new model but maybe I’m wrong. Someone has some information?
Of course, Wind could give but lately he is a little ghost.:(
Kinda disappointed that firmware development stopped on
this model, just as Edwin was putting CDR jitter
improvements in test code that wasn’t even based on the
latest (9P59) rev. It would have been nice to see that come
to fruition, at least, before this drive was kicked to the
side of the road.

ive wanted to go out and get one of them new 24x drives, and still might but i cant justify doing so with this one burning and scanning the way it does. i have my 3 optaric along with this drive in my tower now. and id put the 20A4P up against any of them. ill use it until it craps out on me afte some 2000+ burns like my 18A1P, 20A1S did so. awsome drives. im waiting to see how the newer 24x liteons do. ive heard they actually have the NEC chipset in them. so not a true liteon… yup i have 3 sony nec drive but im a liteon fanboy…lol

#857

Mostly use this drive for scanning, but, recently burned a few dvds and it still gives stellar results.
