I’m very perplexed. I’ve seen in a web shop a new LiteOn model, the DH-20A4P, at a very low price. Only 19,30 Euro.
I was looking for a DH-20A3P to replace my noisy A1 series but now I don’t know if the new drive is a better choice or not. I never seen anyone here with this new model but maybe I’m wrong. Someone has some information?
Of course, Wind could give but lately he is a little ghost.:frowning:

I saw a post in the Bargain Basement that Newegg.com has these so yes they are real i guess.

Tests look pretty nice and it has jitter scanning, unlike the 20A3P.

Thanks!
Yes, it has jitter scanning and I think that the A3 series will never have it.

I was wrong, the A3 series will have it soon. :iagree:

DH-20A4P is using MT1898E (16A1X/18A1X/20A1X) chipset… older chipset than DH-20A3P…?

Looks like they can be crossflashed, waiting DH-20A4P firmware for flashing :iagree:

Looks like the BenQ 2050 is the same as 20A4P.

What makes you say that? That would be nice.
And crossflashing to 4P … is it really possible?

Jmm1, sounds like fun!

Could you please send me a copy of the firmware, if it’s the 9Pxx version. Thanks. :flower:

It may be. The 2050 appears to be very closely related to the 20A1P. The 2050 firmware can be flashed to the 20A1P. I an looking at a burn as I type this. I have a 20A4P on the way so I can have a look at the hardware and compare to the 20A1x series. I wish I had the A4P firmware now but I should have the drive on Thursday so for now I’ll test what I have,

I agree. I wonder what the point of releasing these drives is. If there are hardware differences they appear to be minor since the firmware does work on the older drive.

#17

I just ordered one from NE free shipping. Maybe have it Friday?

#18

I heard from BenQ official saying that DW2050 has some minor hardware difference with older models.
