My Lite-On Dh-20A4H has been driving me nuts when performing Nero Verification after burning DVDs. I don’t know if this is how this model behaves, but my previous Lite-On spun up the disc during file verification, and didn’t slow down or stop until it was done. This model, which is less than 2 months old, acts very strangely. It will spin up, approaching 6x-9x, then within 30 seconds, it will slow down to 2-3x, and become very quiet. Then it will start to speed up again, becoming very, very loud, back up to 6x-9x again, then back down to 2-3x, and this will repeat throughout the entire disc verification.
Does anybody else have this model? Is this normally how this one is? Currently, the verification process takes condsiderably longer than burning. Could Nero be responsible? But I’ve been using Nero 7 all along, even when I had the other drive. This has been doing this since the first day I ran it. The firmware is the latest from Lite-On. Thanks in advance for any input.
