I just installed my new burner and when I burn a CD the computer just drags. If I move the mouse it jitters and if I try to do anything on the computer it takes forever. Any ideas on why it would do this?

Try enabling DMA on all drives.
Dma was enabled already as I verified it when I installed the burner.
Looks like I solved it. It was setup as a slave and running off my ATA 66 Hot Rod card. I changed it over to an IDE channel and have it as a master and it seems to work normally now.
