Lite-On 32123S + Tayio Yuden Media..!?

Well, I’m using a Lite-On 32123S flashed with the latest firmware and I’m using HP media (24x certified).
I checked the ATIP info and it reports this:

ATIP: 97m 24s 01f
Disc Manufacturer: Taiyo Yuden Company Ltd.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 73f / LBA: 359848)

If I burn at 24x (regular bin & cue with CDRWIN 3.8G) the disc shows massive amounts of corrupt sectors when I read it with the ScanDisc feature in Nero’s CD Speed.
The same goes for 16x and even 12x!
Now I’m stuck to burning at 8x…

Why is this happening…!?
I thought Taiyo Yuden was supposed to be one of the best?

This is indeed strange. Taiyo Yuden are very good.

Can you check that with another writer? Maybe your writer is defective.
Do you use crap ide cables? I had a problem with the LiteOn 40125S: It could write data correctly, but it couldn’t read anything when connected to a crap ide cable…don’t ask me how this is possible :frowning:
There is a chance that you cd is ok and that these errors reported by nero cd speed do not exist.

Strange I never have quality problems with disc’s that I have burnt in my 32123S. Even when my friends give me crappy cheap discs and I burn them in 32x hehe.

Do you use the lastest firmware?
