My old NEC is going to be reborn!
Thanks!

P.S.: I really missed that a new f/w (205c) was released
That is an unofficial one (the 205), I guess.

EDIT: I just discovered the threat of ScorpioSoft!

Dee, when trying to unzip the ZIP file I get the message: ‘Some data in your zip file is damaged. The CRC is …(al lot of numbers)

Testing …
testing: LD2510 205c Firmware Package.exe bad CRC 2d91c1d3 (should be 4f16087e)
testing: 205c mod list.doc OK
testing: Liggy’s and Dee’s Website.url OK
At least one error was detected in D:\LD2510_205c.zip

Can you have a look at it, thanks.

No problems with the Zip here!

@ Liggy & Dee

Can I safely put this firmware in my Nec 2500?
And if it is not much trouble, I liked bitsetting to DVD-rom much!
But I do not miss it at the moment because the DVD-player which required
it has died recently.

Dee, Liggy, lots of thanks! BTW, I agree with GrrRon that the firmware would be even better with a bitsetting feature. Is there any chance that one of you can add this?

#6

Looks like I have still some problems with the Liggy/Dee site for downloading the files from there. Now I can download the file but are there CRC errors in the ZIP file, strange…!?

Liggy, could you also provide me with some ‘normal’ download links. Now I always have to disable my download program (DAP) before using your site and still there are problems. Thanks!

#7

Maybe I can take a look at it this weekend. The original firmware completely lacks bitsetting command support. I’m not sure if I’ll still be able to add this code. It’s possible that a new firmware will accept the commands but won’t change the booktype.

#8

Sorry, that’s the only way to get to these files without direct server access and I’m sure you’ll understand that I can’t grant this to you.

I don’t know what might go wrong here. My download script only opens the file and on success sends all the data. (PHP command fpassthru)

Here is a scan of MMore 1-8x DVD-R burned at 8x with Nec 2500 (already @2510 firmware 2.F9) converted to a Nec 2510A with firmware V 2.05

MID : FUJIFILM03

Any hope to have a Maddog 205 firmware with bitsetting…?

#11

I don’t need a MadDog 205c firmware. I have the H8 (that’s the assembler language) bitsetting code and I “only” need to adapt some commands to make it work in a specific firmware.

#12

I´d appreciate a speedup of these RiDisc (Made in Taiwan), cause I got 100 of these.
Bitsetting on +R +RW would be very useful as well

thanks Liggy & Dee. If we can have full bitsetting support in this firmware, it’ll be even better! Thanks for your hard works!!

#14

Please implment full bitsetting if you can. Some of us are still using the trusty 2500@2510. Thanks.

#15

I second that! Please add full bitsetting!

Hey liggy, thanks for the great work, just flashed my nec2500a with the LD2510 Modified Firmware V205c, I’m a bit new at this so please forgive me, but I haven’t tried burning w/ DL yet, but if we flash w/the new firmware do we have the ability to read DL? I’ve been trying to rip a disc, but its no go

#18

Liggy please implement full bitsetting

#19

I don’t have much time for firmware patching at the moment. But I’ll try to add it to the firmware if possible. It might not work at all with these Dell firmwares. It’s something that is untested at the moment.

Thank you very much!!!
