Lg or Lite-on

Yesterday I happened to accidentally destroy my internal Plextor burner when I would enter it into an enclosure. =( I had intended to use it to burn audio…

Enough of that and now to the question (I searched the forums, but didn’t really find the answer):

I cannot afford a new Plextor, what I have now is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N. How bad is it for burning audio with? In addition to the one I have, I have wondered about Lite-On external ETAU108-01, is it something to burn audio with or should I stick to the one I already have?

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum

If you use good quality media, basically every burner will give excellent results. In my opinion, it is not necessary at all to buy another Plextor (mostly because all recent drives are not genuine Plextor but rebranded burners sold at an insanely higher price).

So, if you can’t afford a new drive, the LG with quality discs should be good

For CD, especially audio, I’d prefer the LG over any Liteon.

Thank you for your replies! I feel so suspicious of all burners except my old Plextor.

Time to buy some Taiyo Yuden.
