I got a copy when I bought an LG/Retail Plus DVD drive. It comes with that plus two excellent burning programs and other stuff as well.
It will test both blank and written CD/DVDs. I have yet to test a defective CD to see if it will prompt me to create a repaired one.
It was written by Hitachi. They do some excellent animations to entertain you while it scans, to simulate what is actually happening inside.
It displays blue/red bars as it works to show the progress and what quality it is finding on a track by track basis. Its official name is "Optical Disc Doctor". You can tell it was written by an ESL programmer since the plurals are missing in the prompts.
I have a second Lite-On DVD drive. All this software seems to work fine on it too.
When I clicked update it said it could not find the page on the server it needed for the update. I discovered through Wireshark that the server was mobistel.com. I could find no mention of DVD or CD software on the site.
