Lg "hl-dt-st Dvdram Gsa-h62n"

My old dvd drive broke so my father bought a new LG one. He said that he just plugged it in, and i don’t think he installed any drivers. All of our burning software can see that it is a dvd burner but windows thinks it’s a CD-ROM drive. I burned a dvd from an image in “infra-recorder” and it seemed to do it correctly but the computer did not recognise it was a dvd and keeps saying it is a blank cd.

What needs to be done?

stupid explorer cosmetical flaw!!!

Yep, any DVD burner will show up as “CD-ROM drive” in 98 and XP until you actually put a DVD disc into it. Nothing wrong with your setup, and you don’t need any “drivers”.
