I was extracting some files from a burned DVD, and after they were done, popped in another to try and get some more, but the drive refuses to read anymore. Commercial DVDs, home-cooked DVDs, CDs, nothing will read. The odd part is, Windows recognises the drive for what it is, a DVD-RAM Drive, but when I go to put in a cd, and the little CD mouse icon appears, it will change to a CD Drive in My Computer for whatever reason. I’ve tried updating the firmware, and uninstalling/reinstalling through the device manager, but nothing has changed. Is my drive dead, or is there an easy fix? Thanks in advance.
