Verbatim +R 16x
YUDEN000T03 @20x
Burn time: 05:03

#2

Du you have a LiteOn too for quality scan? I just wonder because of the PIF peaks.

#3

Thanks 2601. Is there a drive that you don’t have?

#4

LG GSA-H55N just arrived in Singapore too as of today. Gonna get one to test.

#5

The H55N uses the same chipset as H50N , so suffering from PIF spikes is normal.

#6

Go for it Sen. You guys get burners sooner than most here.

#7

Thanks for the scan 2601. Burn time of 5:03 on +R isn’t any faster than what I’m getting on the LG GSA H-42N @ 18X, though. Post a -R burn @ 20X when you get a chance.

#8

yes, +R is not really much faster, but -R should be about 15-20 seconds faster.
I just wonder why 18x is so “slow”. Maybe too long leadin/out

#9

Do you mean “exact” same chipset. ???

If so, i can smell a crossflashing coming on :bigsmile::bigsmile:

#10

yes, seems so.
As you can see in the pictures of http://cdr.cz/a/20763 it is the same chipset Panasonic MN103SC7GRT1

Mitsubishi -R 16x
MCC03RG20 @20x
Burn time: 04:36

Fastest burn speed with very poor quality. :Z

#12

Just gotten one. It’s rather pricey here as you can see.

#13

72$ = 58.83 euro’s, this very expensive for an LG dvd-rw, with only a few more euros you can get a plextor, and abuse it’s varirec options.

#14

Verbatim -R 16x
TYG03 @20x
Burn time: 04:36

#15

35.50 euro actually.

19 sec lead-in, ~15sec lead-out. Very fast timing. Made in Japan Verbatim 16x DVD-R (TY) used.

Normal scan don’t work, so i have to do a quick quality scan instead.

No error on the LG. But the Lite-On got read error at the last 400MB mark…

#17

Lead-in is a long 49 sec :Z Made in Japan Verbatim 16x DVD+R (TY) used

The spikes occur on those dips. Heard this is normal for Panasonic chipset…

Smooth transfer on the LG

#18

Sony 16x DVD+/-R media can write @ 18x max

#19

Looks like this H55N is pushing the envelope when burning under 4:45.

Thanks for the posts Sen.

Maxell -R 16x(MIJ)
MXL RG04 @20x
Burn time: 04:37

The Liteon Drives seemed not like to read the discs which burnt by this Drive(especially on -R).
