I have a problem with the LG GSA - H44N DVD burner. It hangs the system during the boot time. Once I remove it the PC boots with no problems. I have it installed in a HTPC with 2 SATA hard drives, a Seagate and a Maxtor.
My motherboard is an Asus P5E-VM HDMI with AMI BIOS and updated to the latest firmware. I also updated the LG burner from RB01 to RB02 firmware…hoping that this would solve the problem.
I have only one IDE channel on the motherboard and I tried 2 cables, I switched the drive to master, slave, cable select, I plugged and unplugged all the Sata Hard drive…it just hangs the bios…
What is very odd, I installed the LG in another older computer and it works perfectly!
What can I do?? Just get SATA burner and that is not LG?
I am a bit desperate coz I can’t install vista without it.
Never mind, I noticed it’s a motherboard/bios problem. anyway it’s weird.
