Lg Gsa-h20l Ls

Hi!

Does anyone know anything about the GSA-H20L LS? Is it better or worse than the GSA-4168B?

Regards,
Sebastian

They are the same drive http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=165462

I hope not, the 4166b use a panasonic chipset that is not so good.

Don’t think so. I think we were wrong about it being the same drive as the GSA-4166B. Someone has tried to cross flash his GSA-H20L with 4166B firmware and ended up virtually killing his drive :

I know, usually Panasonic chipset drives have horrible burn quality and cannot do bitsetting properly. However, don’t judge the 4166B based on that. LG have managed to get quite remarkable burn quality out of the 4166B :

And yes, it does do bitsetting. In fact it auto bitsets DVD+R and DVD+DL to DVD-ROM.
