Hello all,
I bought a new PC in the beginning of this year. I got with it a LG GSA-H12L. With this Writer i was able to play any CD / DVD. But when I started burning every try failed. I tried DVD’s from various qualities but it just didn’t burn. Even after doing som firmware updates.
So I decided to bring it back and got a new one. But with this thing I have the same probem.
Does anyone have an Idea how to solve this problem? I just won’t burn.

What software are you using to burn? If it’s Nero, can you provide an error log?
Also, what discs are you using? Do you have problems burning to CDR too?

Remove Nero InCD, that can often cause problems.
I would agree about the media. And as an after thought, do you have the most up-to-date drivers for your JMicron controller?
The JMicron controller may have nothing to do with it, but after you’ve tried everything else, you may want to see if anything in this thread helps. I don’t have JMicron controllers on my system, so that’s as far as I can advise you on that.
I uninstalled inCD and the version of JMicron which I have is 1.12.7.0
Do you have RAID setup in bios? Looks like it. Run as IDE in bios and then make sure you have UDMA on all your drives in device manager.

Well i found out how to get this done. But still wasn’t able to burn a DVD.
I was able to burn a CD+RW but only through nero.
Maybe some more information. I am running on Windows Media Center.
Can anyone help me out?

It is an internal burner.

The log shows H50L as burner, not H12L…
Booktyping DVD+RW to DVD-ROm will lead into trouble. See the log, it got denied.
I suggest you use [B]ImgBurn[/B] and try to burn the same content again, then post the log from it.
I downloaded the driver for the H50L. Burning with Nero was not succesfull.
About imgBurn i wanted to add some pictures (JPEG) but apperantly this is not possible with IMGBurn. Why not?

Additional info:
I tried a DVD + R dvd. With this one i was able to burn data on the DVD. So the problem seems to be formatting the DVD.
Any suggestions?
