LG GSA-H10L LL11 reset itself

vbimport

#1

hi guys, looking for help.
I have this DVD Writer for more than six months already, and a month ago start to reset itself at some point when burning a DVD-R (same media i’ve been using since I bought it). I have lost about ten DVDs. No matter if is video or data, it just take longer times and fails burning. The software it’s the Nero that came with the package. Please, hope you can help me solve this problem. Thx a lot.

Provide a log file if you expect anything beyond random conjecture.

The use of a flat 80-conductor IDE cable is strongly advised.

Here is the log file from the last fail, before that i was unsing only the DVD Writer i’m talking about, then I added my old DVD Writer from TDK. Still the same problem. I’ll try changing the ide cable as you sugested. Hope the log file be of some help. Thx for your time.

I noticed from your log that the drive in question and the slave HDD are both set to DMA off.
This will have to be corrected before you try again. Go to device manager and reset them.
Also have you sufficient free space on your hard drives and have you defragged them recently.
I also see that you are copying on the fly, rip the data to the hard drive first then record to the DVD.

These kind of reset occur if the interface times out, make sure you have an 80 conductor cable, the standard 40 conductor ones don’t work well with UDMA devices.

Try making an image of the source media, instead of doing a disc-to-disc copy, this will at least isolate the problem device.

Thanks guys but, the main problem is not when copying on the fly. It’s just, whenever i try to copy video or data from the hard drive. Evereything was fine until a couple of months ago when the problem start.
