I just purchased my first DVD burner, the LG GSA-E10L from Best Buy. I have been happily converting all my avi movies to DVD format and burning them to Verbatim DVD+RW 4.5GB DVDs without problems.
But the writer does not seem to recognize Fujifilm 8.5GB DVD+R DL discs at all. I’ve tried using DVDShrink, Nero 6 Burning Rom, and Imgburn and all give the message “cannot burn files to CD-R media, insert correct media” or similiar error message.

As far as I can tell there is no firmware update available for this drive yet…is there something else I can try? I can’t seem to find Verbatim 8.5GB DL discs…the local stores just carry these fujifilm ones. According to the manual fujifilm discs should work.
