LG GSA-4167B not burning DVDs :newbie:

Hey guys, :smiley:

I’m new to the forum and I just got a LG GSA-4167B in a USB2.0 hardware case. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong, but I noticed that the Buffer goes too high when I tried to burn it. Anyhow… I haven’t being able to burn anything. [btw haven’t tried to burn cds] :bow: If you guys could help me it would be awesome!!!

Things I tried:

  • I added 256mb, memory up too 767mb.
  • Hmm I cleaned my harddrive, but need the dvd burner to clean more… now with 4.5gb available.
  • Turn off everything possible. (notepad, internet explorer).

The media you have used are most likely FAKES. Use others.
Check or replace the IDE cable and check the jumper settings too.

i though the same, but the media that I’m using has being used at my friend’s dell computer in which has a dvd-rw. :doh: So that couldn’t be it, also my cd-rw is in a USB2.0 casing.

Doesn’t mean much if the media working with your friends burner…

Could be a problem with the external case (chipset) then.
Do you know what chipset it has?

There is a huge chipset thread about Prolific in the general hardware forum.
