LG GSA-4082N Problem

My laptop DVD Writer starts to experience some problems after some months of usage.

It started to have problem reading any kind of CD but works alright with all DVD whether it is reading or burning.

Firmware is HH01. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Clean the CD lens / drive.

Thanks for the advice. I have already tried that and it did not work. Can read/write DVD but not CD… :frowning:

Here’s my disc info.

Thanks!

Manage to borrow an external DVD writer from a fren and both the CD & DVD works which isolated the software portion of the problem.

Looks like I need to send in my laptop for warranty repair

Hopefully they will replace the drive.

Hi kentgh,

can you tell me the manufactur and the model of your laptop please?
Because i am searching for a firmware to update my 4082N.

Thanks and good luck
Ronny

Sorry for the very late reply cos I just got back my laptop. My laptop is an LG LW40 Express.

LG have replaced the ODD but the strange part is that they have replaced it with TSST TS-L632B, which is from their competitor Toshiba Samsung
At least now the drive is Made in Japan & not Korea

4082N? Never seen a firmware update…
