LG GS21N with Verbatim! Am I doing the right thing?

After reading a lot of thread about “the best write speed”, I’m more confused than before!

My hardware configuration is:
Macbook
2GHz intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Burner: SuperDrive HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N (Firmware Revision SA18)
DVD±R 8X (max speed)
DVD±R DL 2,4X, 4X

I’ve ever burned…
Verbatim (MCC004) DVD+R 16X at 8X

and…
Verbatim DVD+R DL 8X at 4X

I’ve not a drive to check the Disc Quality, but I’ve never had a burning failure or a malfunctioning DVD!

I have to continue with this “burning strategy” or I should have to burn the DVD+R at 4X and the DVD+R DL at 2,4X ?

Personally, I’d say with your lappy LG, the speeds you mentioned first should be just fine.

If you experience playback problems, or problems reading data back from the discs, then you might like to play around with different speeds.

But if the 8x/4x speeds are working for you with no playback/read back problems, then stick with what works. :slight_smile:
