I bought an LG GMA-4080B (Shows up in windows as a GWA-4082N) for my Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 laptop, and am getting the usual IDE Error #1 which i assume is because the device is a master. Windows XP will recognize it if i unplug it and plug it back in the slim select bay and then scan for hardware changes. The problem will come when i want to boot from the CD rom… Does anyone know if i can re-flash the drive to be a slave, or any other solution to this problem? A technician in america (i’m in australia) said i could send the drive over and they could change it to a slave, but this is far too expensive to be worth it. Any solutions??
