I´ve recently bought a LG GMA-4020B, it says “Matsushita” on the white note on top of it. I believe that is Panasonic?!
But I cant find a Panasonic writer with the same specs.
Anyone have an idea? I´m just a litte bit curious…

Matsushita is the original Japanese group name. Panasonic is its brand name for the worldwide electronics market. Meanwhile, LG GMA-4020B and GMA-4040B are designed by LG-Hitachi (Hitachi-LG, or HLDS) and mass manufactured by LG Electronics, both based in Seoul. I am not sure why there is a Matsushita note there.

Thx Kenshin

I saw in CDR Labs review of this drive it said “Hitachi” instead of my “matsushita”, so it obviously are two different types of this drive.

In Nero I see this drive as “HL DT ST”. Do you have any idea what that stands for?
