The GH24NS70 uses RENESAS R8J32060FP2 chipset.

Wow, looks like Renesas made some improvement on this new chipset since their previous chipset burned awfully at 24x with MCC media.

The speed selection is only 8x/16x/22x/24x ??? No 12x???
Also is 16x P-CAV or CAV?

Nice to see that LG has a good 24x burner.

16x is CAV

Thank you 2601 for the reply.
If the drive gives good burns, then it doesnt make much difference if it’s CAV or P-CAV.

It definitely makes me consider about getting this new one after getting rid of the 24NS50.

Hello everyone. Someone can tell me that this model does not recognize DVD-R at 4x speed. Is there any solution for this?

I’ve tried different brands of disc, but none can burn at 4x. Always detected as a minimum speed 8x…

WHY would you need to burn at 4x?
