I use Sony DVD-R media and Nero v8 to burn dvds. I can burn 1 or 2 dvds and then I get the following error message:

pma update failure
could not perform end of disc-at-once
burn process failed

This drive will burn Verbatim DVD+R media with no problems. I hate to throw away the Sony media, since it worked when I bought the pc. I would appreciate any help.

You could give ImgBurn a shot at burning them. If it fails, it keeps a burn log, which you could post.

#3

I will give your suggestion a try. Is it possible to save your ImgBurn guides to a file? I would really like to use them as a reference guide. You did an awesome job creating them. I will lewt you know if ImfBurn corrects my problem. Thank you.

Each One together, are just too big to post here, but if you want to do the work, you can right click on each picture & “Save Image As”, then save to a folder you create.

I tried ImgBurn and it failed too. Where can I find the log file to upload?

#6

Launch ImgBurn, left click Help, left click ImgBurn Logs.

Ok, I’ll try to upload the file. I did burn a Verbatim+R without problems. So, that is good. I followed your guide, but encountered this message while burning:

Automatically Ignore Miscompares? There were 32 miscompares. I told it to ignore, the disc burned and the movie played without problems. I find it hard to believe this drive is not compatible with DVD-R discs.

Here is the log file. It said it was an invalid file type. I had to cut and paste it.
