LG GH22LS ... can\'t burn 4.56 DVD (LG GH22LS30)

I hope all is well.

  1. I am trying to back up Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4 DVD; just purchased.
  2. I am using NTI MediaMaker 8
  3. I use ‘copy feature’ and it creates an image file
  4. Then NTI requests a target DVD …
    A. I inserted DVD+R … NTI did not recognize and then I tried DVD-R, as the target media. Again rejected … saying DVD not large enough.
    B. Source image size is 4.56 GB
  5. What should I do?
    I have no clue as how to create a backup DVD

For a 4.56gb file you will need a dual layer dvd.

The ‘source DVD’ is ‘single layer,’ that is what is confusing.

About 4.38 gb is all that will fit on a single layer dvd.

You could overburn with FEW Plextor and Benq dvd burners.

Thanks again; I will copy source contents to Hard Drive & try to install from there. If it works, I’ll just copy the source DVD contents to a couple of DVDs.

Your only other chance is “to sacrifice” a cheap DL disc. …

Reserve track command… Plextor and BenQ drive support this by HW, right, buth that’s not the whole truth though.
Not that many burning softwares can execute RTC, heh…
Use PlexTools, Nero or ImgBurn* for overburning with mentioned drives. :wink:

  • BTW, ImgBurn supports OB by default.
