[qanda]This thread is about the LG GGC-H20L. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]I bought an LG GGC-H20L recently, and like an idiot, threw the box away after I installed it and saw that everything apparently worked correctly.
When the GGC-H20L is connected to my computer, the computer will lock up after a day or two of constant operation. When I disconnect the SATA cable connecting it to my motherboard, the computer operates without error.
The "lock up" is actually quite odd. The computer will continue to function normally, but it will refuse to launch new applications. For example, I can continue to use Firefox and Thunderbird, but if I try to run Notepad (if it's not open) then Notepad will refuse to launch. Checking the task manage, Notepad does appear on the task list, but the window never gets created. Attempting to kill the application using the task manager fails as well, and the computer refuses to reboot using the start menu as well. I have to hard reboot my computer, which has screwed up several files on my hard drive.
I have a ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, latest BIOS version, running Windows XP (fully patched). I've done my best to try to resolve the issue by uninstalling everything I can think of that would conflict with it.
