Hi, I'm new to this site, although I have stumbled across it a few times for the answer for my annoying issue!
I have a HLDS GBC-H20N drive that came with my pc, It was stock with firmware V1.00, I use IMG burn for a lot of my burning and have always used DVD-Rom booktype for best compatibility with my Verb DVD+R DL disc.. Now.. I updated my firmware the other day to VC02, just because I like to keep on top of drivers etc plus for supported use of DVD Ram which was offered. After doing so I can not change my Booktype no more? IMG Burn gives me the error 'Invalid command operation code' I never had this before, so the only thing I can think is the firmware has locked me out.. I have burnt 2 more DVD's after this and can confirm that prior to the firmware update the disc correctly booktyped to DVD-Rom but now they show as DVD+R DL and do not work on my DVD player no more
I can't seem to find the original firmware for this drive anywhere and am feeling pushed to purchase a new drive because of this! I read that this drive is basically a clone of the GGC-H20N and read about possibilities of a crossflash.. Is this possible and if so, would I get my bitsettings back?
Thanks guys.. I hope someone out there has the answer
