I have just installed a new LgWH10SL30. The firmware on Diskspeed shows 1.0. I was able to locate the 1.06 update (took a while), upon trying to perform the update it showed that I had the 1.09 firmware, which was the one I was looking for originally. Does the 1.0 that was displayed mean it is 1.0-1.9? I see where the firmwares are listed that way for Lg, i.e. 1.0-1.6, 1.0-1.9. Sorry if this was overlong or not too clear.
First of all let’s get the numbers right … the update you’ve found is 1.00-06.
If the 1.00-06 flasher says that the firmware currently on your drive is 1.00-09, then that’s exactly what you’ve got. Because your drive is quite new (recent manufacturing date) it already comes with a newer firmware than the one available publicly. That’s obviously good news.
You should download Flasher (http://sourceforge.net/projects/flasher/files/current_stable/), make a backup of your firmware (both main and core) and share it with us so that other people will also benefit from it.
From a command prompt first run:
That will return the drive ID of your WH10LS30 drive.
To dump the firmware, you need to run the following two commands (replace x with your actual drive ID number reported by the previous command):
flasher -d x -m main_firmware.bin
flasher -d x -c core_firmware.bin
That’s it, zip those two files, and share them with us by uploading them to one of the free hosts out there (mediafire is a good one).
