The PDF was only available in German and looks more visually appealing inside the table itself. I believe that the info distinguishes between the different packaging variants one can find on retail sites such as Amazon. Specifically the “.AUA” postfix of the model number.

That’s just for people interested in understanding product numbers when they go to buy the drives in the first place. It’s general information, relevant to the thread.

Have you tried to update your drive with a different flasher as I suggested above?

From this post.
If someone interested, I’ve patched the BH16NS40(1.03-A0) firmware program updater to allow every drive to be selected.

BH16NS40(1.03-A0)-patched.zip

Also, file selection is made available. However, I do not know how to test it since I don’t know where to get the binary files.
Question - I just got the WH16NS40 (new front panel design) - indicates firmware v1.02. This is the screenshot of the DVDInfoPro Elite info -

Should I upgrade to the A firmware? (The front panel on the LG support site is the old style).

Thanks!

No! Otherwise, you will brick the drive. There is no official firmware released for the WH16NS40 with the SVC Code of NS50 (new front panel design).
