Does anyone have some experience with this drive? I can’t burn faster than 32x… tried Tayio Yuden, Prodisc, Ritek media (all 48x), Liteon 48x burned them at full speed with very low C1 errors… Simulation goes up to 48x all OK, with 2-4% CPU load.
Reading CDs/DVDs is perfect.
Is there newer firmware than 1.00? Or is it a defective drive…
I also have this drive, picked it up yesterday for 169$ AUD (about 100$ US)
I haven’t tried burning over 32X (and don’t intend to burn over 16x to be honest - I don’t trust anything faster than that) but it did cook some perfectly good 10x CDRW’s (MT Rainer drag and drop’s to boot) without a hassle.
It’s “locked” to only have 5 region changes 
so I need some tool called “RPCMAN” apparently - I’ll have to find it.
Someone else who finds this thread (if ever?) let me know if you have any luck with firmware for the drive at the moment I too beleive I have 1.0 but it’s a very new model
