LG 4160B Firmwire Error

Hi!

Sorry for my english and if i put the wrong place my post!
I have a big problem!
I tried to update my LG 4160B dvd-writer with A301 firmwire to A302! But it took to long and i turned off the pc!
I saw that my dvd-writer was on the same ide cabel where my cd-rom was!
And when i saw again my dvd-writer the firmwire was A302, but my device is not good! I can not write! Did i a fatalic errror? Or can i something do to write again! Is it possible to remove the A302 firmwire, or clear it?
Sorry again if i posted the wrong place my question!

So is the burner correctly recognized in the BIOS?

Hello!

When the pc is booting than appear that ide detecting secondary master gsa-4160b!
It means that the bios recognized?
Or where can in the bios find this information?

You are using what burning software?

In case it’s Nero, update to the latest version and then try to burn a CD or DVD and post the logfile here.

Hello!

I spoke with my friends too and they told me this:

In reduced mode try again the update
The writer on secondary master IDE cable
It worked!

But i could not write With Nero 7.0.1.4!
I tried again and and i could write a txt file. It was 167 byte!
And i can erase my cd-rw disk!
It means my writer can only erase and write no more?

Why would you do that, burning 167byte file on a CD??

Please remove the serial from the logfile.

Use and try with other media, eg. CD-R.

Use DVDInfo, not Nero, to format/erase RW discs.

Test the burner in another computer, it could have a hardware problem.

Hello!

I wrote that small data to realize that my writer is working!
It was a test!
And i changed my ide settings. Now my trransfer mode is PIO. With this option i can write, but it takes 50 minutes! So i am 100% sad!
Could you give a piece of advice?

So yesterday i was not correct!
Only PIO mode can write dvds!
In DMA can not writing!
So this is my problem!
Only in PIO mode can write my discs!
For my big-big sorrow!

Replace the IDE cable with a new one and update crappy Nero7.

Problem solved!
I put back my cd-rom on secondary slave IDE cable and the writer working fine with dma mode!
