Wouldn’t have been that polite but you’ve captured the escense of the situation nicely.

I was going to say the exact same thing. Trialware offered as an apology for adware seems to benefit McAfee more than the average user, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Lenovo were making money off the deal. From Lenovo’s perspective, this is probably a good way to help make up for the money that they would still be making if they hadn’t made the SuperFish removal software.
