Legality of iTunes across a local network

Our system admin is questioning the “legality” of sharing our itunes via our local network. Apple has carefully crafted their software to enfoce copyright laws and the company has made it a point to NOT allow file copying. My interpretation of Digital Milenium Copyright Act and the First Sale Doctrine would be that sharing music via iTunes, when done on a local network and on “personal” devices (i.e. those not public), is not enfringing on copyright laws (in the US). Any thought or comments to support or refute that statement? My sys admin is a bugger, gotta come up with a good reply!

very bottom it says 1 Music sharing is for personal use only.

i guess it’s up to your sysadmin as to what constitutes “personal use”

apple is very stringent when it comes to the legality of iTunes.
