If only copyright laws were just and balanced, companies like SlySoft and Fengtao would be able to shutdown AACS-LA, for cutting into their profits. Those in favor of the type of oppressive copyright regimes that these corporations claim are necessary could argue that circumvention leads to piracy, and therefore less money earned. But even so, at least these technologies are not meant to destroy entire industries, unlike AACS-LA.
If AACS-LA really wants to put Fantao and SlySoft out of business, they could simply remove their ineffective DRM altogether. But doing so would make too much sense, I suppose.
It would make $$$ and cents. But, since they want to hoard all the cash, they won’t do any of that at all.
That and the price gouging they do to consumers for 3rd rated movies…would get more consumers on board. But as anything “GREED” will never help them no matter what they do.
100% agree. All this trying to shut down Fengtao, Slysoft and DVD Ranger will ultimately fail.
Shut those guys down, and a bunch of others will pop up.
Just like they can’t shut down The Pirate Bay, or other torrent sites.
