LBA error , can't burn converted files

I convert the Files and it won’t burn like it always would before because it keeps saying “error Failed to set layer change to LBA 1276288 (2.43 Gb.) - Code 05 26 00 [Illegal request, Invalid field in Parameter list]” What should I do and is there any way this can be fixed?

Why are you trying to write to DL disk?
Your files fit to DVD5, no need to waste DL disk…

Hi there,

http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/downloads/820AFW10C/820A_10C.zip

There is v1.0c firmware upgrade for your burner, which may help to support better Dual Layer, no idea what’s new in the new version :disagree:

Those Ritek D01 disks are a fairly poor media. I tried one & the result was an appalling burn.

I downloaded the latest firmware (thanks cougar ii) and converted my files again, and it came up with the same LBA error, and so I tried putting in a DVD-R 4.7GB disk and ConvertXtoDVD told me " Incorrect media. Use one of these : double Layer DVD+R, double Layer DVD-R" which I did and still would not burn because of the LBA error, so I downloaded NERO EXPRESS and burned the converted files on there using my 8.5GB DL DVD+R and it worked, burned all the files, they play fine, Plus…after it burned it took almost the entire DVD, it burned approx. 8.0GB of info, so is the conversion actually making the files that big or is ConvertXtoDVD just not working? If so, i will continue to use NERO EXPRESS if ConvertXtoDVD keeps making that LBA error. If there are any other suggestions please feel free to help in any way possible, thank-you all for your help.

P.S. these are the files that ConvertXtoDVD converted for me, and this is the size that the program made them…what i find strange is that i did not change the settings and the previous DVD had 8files instead of this one with 7 and yet it is twice as large.

Your partial log shows:

12/30/2006 10:14:01 AM info Scanned files #24, folder #2 - total size 4635219968 b. (4.32 Gb.)

But your filelist shows over 8GB of files - what is correct?

This is the FULL LENGTH from start to very finish of the whole process that i tried to burn using the ConvertXtoDVD and please tell me if it shows the ACTUAL size of the files that this retarded program converted them into, if not then the whole log that it shows me is a sham.

You have a lot of problems in that log, out of memory error, conversion info of titles 2-3 are missing, as are infos on titles 5-7.
If that is unedited log then your conversion is not properly finished and there is no use trying to burn it.

Sadly anything can happen when you use ME - it is not supported by Microsoft anymore, all updates and changes are missing.
If you can, try that same conversion on any XP system just to check if that is the problem.

thank you, but i have watched all that i burned on Nero and they seem to be perfectly fine, and all that i find weird is that this is the only time that this has done this, so I will get XP and see if that helps. p.s. no one has still ever told me if they even know what the LBA error is and if that can be fixed.

That error comes when CxD is trying to change position of DL disks layer break (when to switch to another layer).
It might occur for multiple reasons, one of them might simply be if you use FAT32 filesystem.

Others have reported problems here with these Ritek discs when the layer break is reached. Verbatim +R DL media is your best bet.
