As to your problem, if the disc has a hidden LaserLok directory then it is either laserlock or laserlock star protected rather than Ring Protech (ProRing).
However, since the ring on a laserlock protected disc typically is near the inner hub rather than the outer part of the disc, it's probably laserlock star.
If it is laserlock star then you won't be able to make a working image or physical back-up copy with CloneCD.
You will need to use alcohol and the correct datatype settings for image making and burning are the starforce settings rather than the laserlock settings.
Further, to play from a physical back-up copy, RMPS emulation will need to be enabled in either alcohol or daemon tolls emulation options.
[Note: if is is plain old laserlock then it appears that your image is bad. Laserlock emulation should not be required to play a laserlock protected game from an image mounted in daemon tools so long as the image is good.]
