There are several new protection variants on this disc so an update is required.

Yup and I had no problem with v5322

That’s good to know as that’ll help people in the meantime.

I always find it bizarre though that protection variants that have already been solved in earlier versions of DVDFab keep having to be reimplemented in the latest versions.

There’s definitely something unusual going on there.

I run across that quite often Wombler

Yeah I know which is why we always keep the older versions.

I’m just continually surprised that we should have to.

Yo Tim-

Where does one find version 5.3.2.0 or 5.3.2.2-eh??

#9

Yo Mike

PM

#10

StormJumper,
I’d like to have a copy of 5.3.2.0 as well.

Thanks. :).

Bob

#11

Yo SJ…hook me up with the 5.3.2.0 too!!

#12

Older versions can be found-> Here

However the only v5 is v5250 can give it a try I have no way to send them.

#13

Yo-

That 5.2.5.0 worked a charm and gave me a good decent copy (I never could find 5.3.2.0 nor 5.3.2.2).

However - I was able to copy “Larry Crowne” with the latest version - 8.1.3.8 also - with excellent results.

I think the trick is to set the Writing Size to 4300 instead of 4482 (and that goes for most other discs too-eh.

The only time I have the output size for DVD5 set at 4482 is when I use Taiyo Yuden(85% of the time) or Verbtaim(10% of the time) with other brands I set at 4464 due to low quality issue near the edge.

#15

I also use a custom setting of 4464 . DVDShrinks preferred output ( that’s where I got it.)
My version of 5 is 5232. I might have some others but would need to look for them .
This is like SJ I have no way to send them.

SJ,What output size do you use for DVD9??

#17

Hi rosariorose9

I have always left it set at default-> 8100 which has always gave me 100% on quality output, however on some special projects where I merge two movies .e.g. Wrath of Khan & Search for Spock or Predator 1 & 2 the I will increase the setting if needed.

Yo Tim-

Got a “Disc Failed To Write” (or something like that) every time I tried on both Taiyo Yuden 8x +R and Verbie 16x +R discs in both 5.2.5.0 and 8.3.1.8. Only able to get sucdcessful burn after I reset the write size to 4300 for both -

Me personally am going to leave it set at 4300 for everything-eh.

With both those brand names you should have no problem with a setting of 4472 also do you have ImgBurn set as the default burn engine or are using the internal burn engine-> VSO ?

Yo Tim-

I have only used VSO for my 4 or 5 year tenure with DVDFab - could never quite get into ImgBurn-eh. :stuck_out_tongue:
