Depends on the notebook. Buy a $600 notebook get a DVD-ROM drive. Buy a $1500 notebook get a PooRay drive. Meh.

And they both have Vista on them LOL! Get yourself an MSI Wind or an EeePC 1000 with Linux or WinXP :X

Blu-turd drives are only offered on higher-end notebooks. The one’s crippled with Vista Business and 1GB RAM. :stuck_out_tongue:

Laptops are more expensive than desktops because most of the individual components are more expensive. Why would Blu-Gay (sorry, couldn’t resist jumping on that bandwagon) drives have a smaller price gap between desktop and laptop versions than every optical format that came before it?

Optical drives seem to be less and less popular. If the ultramobile PC market is as popular as expected, then most laptops this year will be shipped without optical drives. No Blu-rape for me.

‘Laptop Blu-ray drives will be most popular’ Because no one will buy them as stand alones… The title is missing ‘Sony’ at the beggining…
