I wonder if I can use KProbe to test the writing quality of an Audio CD?
But I doubt how it works.
I thought KProbe detects C1/C2 errors of a Data CD-ROM by checking against the ECC code. But in Audio CD there is no data correction mechanism, so how could KProbe tell if there is an error?
Why not just try it?
Yes of course, I know it’s worth trying and in fact I did try it.
But as I concern about the quality of replicas I want to know the reliability of KProbe scan of an audio CD.
Kprobe is neither reliable nor unreliable, it simply reports what the drive is doing.
No one has ever reported any reason to doubt the results of scanning an audio CD.
