Kprobe results - what does it mean in terms of quality?

I have kprobe results for the Ricoh(memorox) +R 4x media that I burned on 851s. The result doesn’t
look great. But the quality of the movie
is pretty good. Nero recode has been
used to encode and compression level is
at 62%.

If the kprobe results are poor and burn
quality is pretty good what does it mean?
I played this on apex 1225,playstation2
and one old sharp player. Played fine on all of them.

Your KProbe is not that bad actually, it looks like it peaks towards the end, but overall it looks ok to me… Your PO is below 32, and the PI scores are fair enough - with these readings you shouldn’t worry. I’ve seen some people have much higher PI’s and it plays just fine.

I have someone who supplied me a Princo DVD-R that they burnt themselves, I scanned it on my 811, with KProbe 1.29 and it had as much as 3 to 4 times your errors and it played fine on my APEX 1200, from start to finish…

Of course you can get better scores than that, usually you try to find the best match for your given writer… However, if your DVD works fine otherwise don’t worry about it… It’s the PO errors you should look out of and make sure they aren’t too high. In your case they are well within specs.

Some peaks are tolerated, note your average PI is 72, which is just fine and within spec.
