I have scanned the same DVD with 2.3.0 and 2.4.2 versions of Kprobe and got different readings. Should this happen or have I got the settings wrong. The DVD was burned on a 812s@832 using VSOB 8x speed. Ritek R03-02.
i think even if you used one version you could get varying results everytime.
scan a disc then eject, reload disc and scan again using same kprobe, i bet it varys.
Which ever way you look at it that disc is not long for this world
You could use the same version of Kprobe and scan the same disc 3 different times, and get 3 different results. But the results should stay relatively close.
Gentlemans…you forgot one important thing.
ECC block sum for PIF´s in KProbe 2.3.0 is 8. In Kprobe 2.4.2 it is 1.
In other terms, the correction is more, so to say “accurate” in 2.4.2, resulting the drive/KProbe to repport less errors.
Hmm, did I get it right rdgrimes
Be careful when comparing to scans done with KProbe version 2.3.0 (and all v.1.xx)!
Thanks for that… So if I just keep using 2.4.2 set to read at 4x speed, PI Sum 8, PIF Sum 1 then I should get a more accurate reading of the quality then using 2.3.0…? I hope I understood that right?
