Knights of Honor fails to launch!

SecuROM 5.03.06.0025 on CD2

I purchased a legal copy of KoH a few days ago from
Fry’s Electronics. I keep having
problems with the install. I have a new dell system,
winXP pro that exceeds game requirements. The game
installs ok but it will not run. I cannot uninstall
the game,(ctrl+alt+del) shows it is still running, so
I have to shut down and restart to uninstall.

Several people have the same problem on the Tech Forum
but know-body can help with the problem.
BlackSea Studios and Paradox Interactive will not respond to my e-mails.

The English version game will not start. There are no
game errors poping up, all programs running in the
background are disabled. I can play the DEMO just fine.
I have tried installing on two different
computers, it installs with no problem. Both have
dvd-rom but have the same problem not starting.

I did a file search and CIDAEMON shows up
c:\i386
c:\WINDOWS\system32
FictionalDaemon.dsc
c:\Program Files\DefenderPro AntiSpy\AntiSpy\Def
I uninstalled antispy hoping it would help, no such luck.

Does anybody have any suggestions?
