Kinect tech will aid in search and rescue of earthquake victims.

Thanks to Microsoft’s Kinect technology, however, a new search and rescue tool is on the way.

Great to finally see low cost 3D technology being applied for new applications.The Kinect sensor however uses an infra-red laser to project a star-field pattern. The sensor however has poor background light suppression and is not suitable for outdoor applications at present.
