Kenwood true x 72, nogo in 2k and xp?

Hi,

My first post here and what a great library of information!

However, i couldn´t find any posts if the Kenwood is working in 2k or xp, mine doesn´t anyway. OS finds the drive, but can´t read a cd, burned or original. Is there some patch, firmware or even a driver around that i dont know about? I know from Kenwoods site that they dont support XP or 2K on this drive, but someone must have gotten it to work.

Thanks,

Mac

The upgrade firmware will only work in 9X/ME , but maybe after doing this , there’s better support for it in Win 2k/Xp as well.

I don’t really see why it shouldn’t work on XP… it’s ATAPI , isn’t it ?

Thanks,

Yes, it is the same as all the rest of the crd´s around and i am chuffed as well. I´ll try it out, no harm can be done anyway.

I sold mine for this reason. I have heard of people getting them to work but I wasn’t that successful

Don’t bother registering. It’s just a marketing survey.
edit-the devil is covering it all

now it doess not

Actually this drive will work in XP. I have a friend that uses it. It can’t be used for the inital setup and install. He had to use another drive then swap it out after WinXP was installed.
